TRAINING

The planned training programme harmonizes the PhD programmes running at the different academic beneficiary organisations and adds a complementary dimension along key transferable skills. It fills a current gap observed across the range of beneficiaries and partners, by providing a coherent training structure to transversal skills. This is because as we move to a more data-driven society, both social and technical skills will be needed to contextualise how the data, the tasks, and users related. DoSSIER brings the trainees in direct contact with academic environments (European and international) and entrepreneurial environments (corporate and start-up, local and global).

The training programme consists of several pillars:

  1. Graduate courses taken at the academic partners.
  2. DoSSIER workshops.
  3. The 1st DoSSIER training school.
  4. The European Summer School on Information Retrieval (ESSIR) organized by DoSSIER
  5. Online DoSSIER eLearning platform for sharing training materials and internal communication.
  6. Secondments.
  7. Direct involvement of ESRs in the running of DoSSIER (e.g. the organisation of the Open DoSSIER Training School).
