Host Organisation: Spinque BV is a high-tech SME based in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
The doctorate degree will be awarded through the Radboud University in Nijmegen.
Spinque is specialised in solutions for professional search, with strong emphasis on the design of search workflows that are tailored to the specific datasets and tasks at hand. At Spinque, you will work in a high-tech SME while working toward completing your PhD thesis that will be defended at Radboud University.
The objectives of the PhD research project are: (1) to explore how linked (open and closed) enterprise data and (alignment of) ontologies can be exploited to improve the effectiveness of complex search and recommendation systems in information-intensive organisations, especially institutions in higher education; (2) to support the user in the semi-automatic tasks of defining strategies for search and (meta-)data enrichment and reconciliation; (3) to include (ad-hoc) advanced models in a structured workflow designer for linking and search.
The expected outcome is the definition and implementation of (semi-)automatic techniques and algorithms to assist professional users, in the area of innovation management for a university, in the context of a visually-oriented workflow designer.
